     In October 1999, Dunavant began serving the Northern California Conference as the director for church growth and Sabbath School ministries. In January 2008, he transitioned from serving as the director of Sabbath School ministries to the director of evangelism - while maintaining his responsibilities as church growth director. Dunavant obtained his B.A. in theology from Loma Linda University and his Master of Divinity and his Doctor of Ministry from Andrews University. For 25 years, Dunavant served as a pastor at several churches in the NCC. He has also taught graduate students at several of our universities in the areas of church growth and spiritual growth. Ministry is his greatest passion. "In addition to personally experiencing God, my greatest joy is helping others to joyfully experience Him and to lovingly serve Him according to their giftedness," said Dunavant. "When my church becomes even more passionate about God and compassionate toward others, we will fulfill the Great Commission and soon see our Best Friend and King." Dunavant is married to Mary Ellen, who heads the Pleasant Hill ABC, and has two grown daughters.
