The Seventh Day Sabbath Sought Out (1657)

     Found by a Seventh-day Adventist Religious Liberty Attorney while researching at the Notre-Dame Library, this recently re-discovered book is probably one of the oldest known author or publishings, outside of the Bible, that recognizes the Seventh-day Sabbath would be a test at the end of time and would stand in distinct contrast to the mark of the beast, or the attempted change in "times and laws" by men.  This pre-dates the Seventh-day Adventist church by nearly 200 years, and even mentions "the last great controversy". This demonstrates that this concept is neither new nor uniquely Seventh-day Adventist and was, in point of fact, founded during the reformation!  This is a very exciting find that we believe every christian should read and be aware of!  To God be the glory!

     "The first Royal Law that ever Jehovah instituted, and for our Example celebrated, (namely His blessed Seventh-day Sabbath,) is in these very last days become the last great controversy between the Saints and the Man of Sin, The Changer of Times and Laws.  Awake ye slumbering Virgins, the figtree is apparently budded, the signs of his second coming who is The Lord of the Sabbath, are so fairly visible, that although the day and hour be not known, yet doubtless this generation shall crown obedient Saints with everlasting Rest..."

• 1648 was the last year of the reformation.  Wouldn't it make sense that the Sabbath was the last institution attempted to be restored?  There was obviously a Sabbatarian revival going on at this time that culminated in this, and several other books on the Seventh Day Sabbath!
